Con-Syst-Int Group Inc. is Proud to Become a Strategic Partner with O.A.C.E.T.T. (The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists) June - 2010
Control Systems International Group Inc. (Con-Syst-Int) wants to take their business to the next level and by becoming one of OACETT’s Strategic Partners they hope to gain the exposure they need to achieve this. Working with OACETT they plan to connect more with industry decision-makers, promote certification and show new and existing clients the value they place on the profession.
Mike Kramer, C.E.T., General Manager of Con-Syst-Int feels it is important to show people within his organization and in the profession the importance of belonging to an organization like OACETT.
Con-Syst-Int has 15 employees in Ontario, of which 13 are engineering technicians and technologists. Most of these engineering technicians and technologists are designers, PLC programmers, robot programmers, software designers and industrial electricians. Over the next five years, the company plans to hire 50 to 60 technologists and technicians. The company promotes ongoing professional development of its staff. In particular, employees are encouraged to undertake training that keeps them on top of new technologies and garners the company’s respect in the industry. OACETT certification has also become an important component of their professional development initiatives.

Kramer joined OACETT in 1999 and earned his C.E.T. designation last year. He believes membership in the Association has contributed greatly to his professional growth and has strongly encouraged the certification of his engineering technologists. Over the past year, a number of employees have earned their designation and the company has experienced a huge boost in morale and confidence.
“Having more C.E.T.s in the company has changed how we conduct business day to day,” said Kramer. “The company was always strong technically but needed to improve its business skills. Certification has given us a baseline of professionalism and enhanced our business skills, specifically in contracts and staff mentorship.”
As a strategic partner, Con-Syst-Int is gaining exposure to OACETT’s more than 23,000 members. Exposure Kramer hopes will provide more education to the issue. Kramer also hopes OACETT’s extensive efforts in lobbying for the LET legislation will eventually lead to the law being passed and his company gaining more customers, government bids and an advantage in the manufacturing market.
